Founded in 2019, American Futures Institute (AFI) is a student-led social impact consulting group based at Duke University. We provide pro-bono research and consulting services to legislators, businesses, and nonprofits, with a focus on projects that drive social impact.

Our mission is to collaborate with clients to identify and execute specialized projects tailored to their unique needs and goals. AFI’s services encompass policy research, strategic planning, and marketing.

As a student-led organization, AFI is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders through innovative problem-solving. Our members receive comprehensive training through student-led research initiatives before engaging directly with real-world social challenges. This hands-on approach equips our team with the skills and experience necessary to make a tangible difference.
